About VCC and Sadie

Sara (“Sadie”) Lombardi, MS, LPCC, EMDR, UW-AAB

Many kinds of difficulties and pain can lead a person to seek counseling. No matter what brings you in, the most important thing is you made that first step. From here, you begin an experience of self-discovery and growth. Counseling can help individuals and families address issues such as relationship problems, grief and loss, addictions, and mental illness. Whatever is troubling you, you are already one step closer to resolving it just by starting your search for the right counselor. I am excited to join you in your task and help you with whatever you may need to get there. For some it’s a witness and a sounding-board, for others it’s new perspective, knowledge, and skills. With a little assistance and the tools that fit your situation, you can find a way through anything.

Sadie integrates multiple methods of counseling that are evidence-based to meet each client’s individual treatment needs. She has extensive training in trauma treatment methods (EMDR incorporating somatic techniques, ego states/parts work, and sensorimotor psychotherapy), talk therapy methods (CBT and DBT), and experiential methods (counseling incorporating equines). She received her international certification as a mental health professional with equine interactions from the CBEIP (Certification Board of Equine Interactions Professionals) in 2021. Though this advanced credential was a proud achievement, she opted not to maintain it upon renewal. She received the IATP’s CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional) in 2017 and completed the qualifying training for CCTP-II, but opted not to maintain these certifications, as well. Sadie is certified in life coaching and is a supporting member of the IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants) and the ISES (International Society for Equitation Science). She has continuing education training in interpersonal neurobiology, neurodevelopmental disorders, psychopharmacology, attachment theory, and many others. Her regard for the natural healing and growing process within every person guides her work in a client-centered way.
